This will be my second year flipping and I love it.  It takes time for the kids to get the hang of it, but it works for them!!!  I have been asked to participate in a forum for Blackboard at the end of this month.  I use Blackboard as the platform for the podcasts and class materials and they have invited me - all expenses paid - to come and allow others to ask questions.

I would love to make it out there, but financially, I don't think our district would be able to find the money to send me.  Thanks

Jonathan

With the webinar version of the conference in June, if I register do I need to be able to watch the webinar live, or can I access the recording at a time that fits me?  I have a summer job and really can't afford to take a couple of days off of work.

Jonathan,

Thanks for your comment.  I am in the process of working with my tech coordinator to make sure that we have the necessary software/hardware components in place to make this happen.  Thinking of using Camtasia for Mac.  Any advice on this...is it a good product?  Also, thank you for creating this site.  I have been looking around in it quite a lot over the past few days and already feel much more confident that I will be able to pull this off.  I am really excited to get going on it and even more excited to see how it works next year.  I think that is model of teaching will really lend itself to the introduction of the common core standards coming soon for math.  More time working with kids in the classroom solving bigger problems.

That's awesome, Jonathan! I'm a PhD Candidate here at KU right now!  Working with classroom teachers across Kansas in Tech-Rich environments...I'm really interested in helping teachers with the flipped classroom concept! Glad you created this site!

Hi Jonathan,

I recently purchased a tablet so that I could markup powerpoint slides, write out equations, etc. I just installed it but I'm not quite sure how to be able to write anywhere I want...On your videos, it seems like you can basically write anywhere. Is that an inherent feature of the tablet you own, an addon program, or just some basic feature that I haven't discovered. I thought a write anywhere feature would be the most basic function but that doesnt appear to be the case for my particular tablet (a Vistablet...). Any suggestions?

Thanks for the message Jonathan.  I work in the office of Communications and Outreach at ED, focusing on the Department's new media.  This is a great project and I'm excited to see what people are working on around the country.

Hi, I was looking through the options you mentioned for mac available software and I found something completely free for macs that works quite well.  If you have the latest quicktime (free) there is an option to record your screen with a microphone set in.  You can do numerous applications while presenting or talking and its completely free.  If you want I can send you the link later via youtube.  Just thought you should know if you haven't found that out yet.
