Comment by Tris West on May 2, 2013 at 8:45am I am attending a workshop tomorrow to learn more about Flipping. Does anyone have a comment of what has been your biggest challenge with flipping your classroom? I'll hang up and listen, thanks:)
I'm just starting to think about flipping in my 7th grade math and science classroom. Any words of wisdom?
Comment by Mark Holmwood on March 25, 2013 at 12:49am Hi Becky, I am not sure exactly what you are looking for, but I have some videos that may possibly help. I make material for TEFL students and I have a load of grammar videos on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/user/HolmwoodsELT

Comment by Becky Ince on March 24, 2013 at 12:39pm Does anyone have any great grammar videos that meet the Common Core language standards? Looking for 7th and 8th grade videos?
Thank you!
Comment by Becky Ince on March 22, 2013 at 12:25pm Any language arts teachers out there? I need some help on where did you start? I teach 8th grade language arts and we are on block schedule. Where should I start? Does anyone have any examples? Thank you!
Comment by Julie Garcia on March 8, 2013 at 3:02pm Remember, it doesn't take much to play a little screencast. Consider used mobile devices as well. Good Luck!
Comment by Eric Brown on March 8, 2013 at 2:19pm Thanks Julie! I'm working on getting enough computers to split the classroom (similar to what you outlined--36 students, 3 computers so far). Hopefully I can improve the tech piece of this!

You might want to try something I found useful which was station days. I did this in my middle school math classroom where I broke the class up into three groups. One group would be at the screencasting station where they would watch videos, another would be on an independent activity and the third in a small group with me. In a class of 30, I could have partners work on five devices (computers, iPod Touch Devices, whatever). You could even make the screencasts differentiated so they are at each group's level.
This is very similar to centers in elementary school. I really enjoy the time I spend with the small groups and students like moving around the classroom.
Comment by Eric Brown on March 8, 2013 at 2:01pm I'm a 5 - 8th grade math teacher with limited computer/internet access for my students. Is anyone flipping their classroom without much, if any, technology?
Comment by Crystal Mart on March 3, 2013 at 12:30pm I tried screencastomatic last summer and it's free. It allows you to imbed a smaller screen with your pic. There's a bit of a learning curve, but it might work for you!
