Thanks for the input.  I'm looking at the tablet so that I can annotate on my computer while recording for videos.  I don't think the ActiveSlate is what I'm looking at because I need something I can use when I'm away from my interactive whiteboard.

I have a Wacom Graphire Wireless that I too have been using for a few years. It works great for me, I've thought about buying something newer but this one is still working great. Another math teacher uses a promethean ActiveSlate which they really like.

The Bamboo tablets are good if you are just looking for a simple desktop tablet.  I use a wireless tablet so I can be anywhere in my classroom and work through my projector.  It is nice to have that additional functionality.  I never use a whiteboard any more.  It is far more powerful, has many more applications, is easier to see from the back of the room and I can put myself anywhere I need to be.  It is great when some students get a little talkative.  I can stand right next to them without missing a beat in my presentation and magically the talking stops :)

I have used many brands over the last 6-7 years or so.  The one I currently recommend is the Promethean ActivSlate60.  The wireless technology is far more reliable than either the eInstruction (Mobi or MobiView - used both extensively) and the Wacom Intuos Wireless.  My old Wacom Graphire Wireless was awesome, but their newest wireless tablets have nothing but issues in my experience.  The Promethean has worked great for the last year with almost no issues and right out of the box.

I use the simplest one possible. I think it is around $80. You do not need any bells and whistles. You will just need to practice for awhile until you get your eye-hand coordination down.

I'm looking at purchasing a Wacom Bamboo tablet.  Can anyone help me know what I should be looking for and/or which they recommend?

We're loving Desmos over here. Some great inspiration with their Math Examples: https://www.desmos.com/math

I was at NCTM last week and wanted to share about a completely web-based graphing calculator called Desmos. (www.desmos.com.).

This is exactly the type of calculator app I have been dreaming of for awhile. It has many of the same features of the TINspire, but seems much more intuitive and it's FREE! Highly recommended!

Teresa -- If you're using Camtasia Studio to make your videos, make sure you check out their improved quizzing features / reporting. Here's a quick video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8V617qcF8o (you'll also be able to track how long it took a student to watch the video and whether they watched the entire thing)

I do something similar to what Crystal does (mine was inspired by Dr. Ramsey Musallam -- see flipteaching.com).

I embed my videos into my class website (made with Google Sites) and then embed an online Google Form underneath with a quick summary and multiple choice question from the end of the video. I look these over before class begins to know where students are at with a topic, if they understood the main ideas, and what they might need more help with.

Here's an example from Algebra 2 (which I only started flipping about 1/2 way through this school year).

I have learned A LOT from Crystal and her awesome blog -- just saying! :)

Thanks!
