Flipped Learning Network Ning

A professional learning community for teachers using screencasting in education.

Below is the youtube link for my newest parent information video - it is my first attempt with Camtasia.  I really love it, but the file size is huge!  It is longer than I would like, but most of my videos are :)

Would love advice/input.  Hopefully it has ideas that you can implement!  Dena

Wow! Dena, your video is great! It's very thorough and does an excellent job in explaining to parents and students EXACTLY what to expect and why this is such a great teaching method. I think you will have lots of parents and students excited about learning Chemistry with you this year. It makes ME want to be in your class this year! :)

I also teach AP Chemistry and plan on flipping this year for the first time. I wish I had a video like yours to introduce to my students to flipping! Way to go!! (And this is your first attempt with Camtasia?! I'm impressed!)

Jennifer - feel free to send the link to your parents with a note indicating differences for your class!  Thanks for the encouragement.

Thank you, Dena. That is an excellent idea! I appreciate you allowing me to use your video you put so much work into! :)

Dena, Very nice work. Could you tell me what tablet you use? Thanks

ken

Ken - I use a mimio tablet with the mimio program (free download), mainly because I already had one before I flipped.  My school uses smart notebook, but it doesn't seem to be a stable platform on my MacBook.  The mimio acts just like a bamboo - any "inking" program will work!
