Comment by Dawn Sanchez on April 7, 2013 at 1:37pm As an administrator I have noticed that our teachers try different technology tools out until they find a few that they are most comfortable with, and then expand on using those tools with their students.
There are many teaching styles and many student learning styles. If we remind students to look at what is available to them; whether it be our own teachers' videos or someone else's videos, it empowers them.
I have had more students ask for teachers blogs, the www.flippedhighschool.com sight, and additional websites. It is great to see them finding what works for them in their own world.
Comment by Greg Green on September 27, 2012 at 11:17pm Our flipped experience has been amazing. What I have finally begun to realize is that the frustration with technology integration is that we center our focus around the tool and not the skill. Just as teachers often focus too much on content and not enough on skill development, we are guilty of it as administrators. I feel that we need to identify what skills a person really needs to understand. That became apparent when I looked at my own training. If I can adequately copy, cut and paste than I can quickly navigate multiple software platforms. Regardless, if you use Facebook, Edumodo, Twitter, a blog there are "incubation" skills that all staff need to know. If you skip these, your staff has some real integration issues.
